Managing DVM

Dr. Ashley Collins

Dr. Ashley Collins grew up in Orange County, California and spent her early years riding horses, swimming, and playing water polo. Her family always had animals that were part of the family, so she realized at a very young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. After graduating from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, she attended the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. After graduating in 2011 and having realized that she was not tough enough for the brutal mid-west winters, she moved back to California and began working at Abby Pet Hospital. She became a partner in 2020.

Dr. Collins and her husband, Alex, an engineer have two young children; daughter Avery, and son Cole. Dr. Collins and her family spend their time boating, swimming, camping, and riding horses. Dr. Collins and her family share their home with many animals, a Great Dane named Annabelle, a black Labrador named Tulie, a mastiff mix named Rip, a cat named Meow Meow Whiskey, and a horse named Broadway.

The human-animal bond is by far Dr. Collins's favorite part of veterinary medicine. She loves to help people through helping the animals they love!
