Dr. Abbie-Leigh Meneses
Dr. Abbie-Leigh Meneses, originally from Riverside, CA, grew up playing club soccer and other school sports, as well as various musical instruments.
Her passion for soccer brought her to the central valley in 2014 after being recruited to play for UC Merced. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in anthropology.
Following graduation she began coaching high school sports including cross country, soccer, and track & field, as well as taking a job as a dog trainer at a local pet store. Her love of medicine continued to grow as she began working at a small animal clinic before applying to veterinary school.
She achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian after graduating from the University of Arizona, College of Veterinary Medicine. While in school she participated in student government serving as student body president. Her growing interests include behavior, internal medicine, and surgery.
She has now returned to the central valley with her two cats, Theodore and Oliver, and began her position with Abby Pet Hospital in September 2024.
When not in the clinic she enjoys playing soccer, photography, and doing anything outdoors.
The thing she loves most about veterinary medicine is being able to build relationships with not only animals but the people who love them.
