Dr. Clarity Skeen grew up in South Dakota riding horses on the prairie and swimming in the Missouri River. She was always surrounded by animals; pets, foster pets, rescues, convalescents and finally returned to school to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian, graduating from UC Davis in 2003. During her studies, she was awarded Regents and Westminster Kennel Club Scholarships, and was a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Skeen graduated summa cum laude from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with an undergraduate degree in biochemistry, and earned a master’s degree in veterinary science from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Skeen considers herself a Veterinary Family Practitioner with special interests in targeting health care to the different life-cycle stages of pets and advancing feline veterinary medicine. She and her human family share their home with 4 dogs, 12 cats, 2 horses, 3 rabbits, and a bearded dragon. When not caring for animals, Dr. Skeen enjoys hiking, swimming, and camping with her husband Carlos and their three children.
